Married At First Sight UK contestant kicked off show for punching co-star (2024)

Married At First Sight UK star Luke Worley has reportedly been booted off the show for hitting a co-star.

The salesman, 30, is reported to have been fired by the programme’s bosses after punching another member of the cast.

A source has claimed Luke was dropped from the popular reality dating programme after getting into fisticuffs with Jordan Gayle – leading to Luke’s wife, Jay Howard, also being removed from the show.

While Like and Jordan have not been each other’s biggest fans from the beginning of the series, ‘no one was expecting them to clash like they eventually did,’ the source said.

They told the Mail Online ‘things got particularly heated’ between the pair during a couple’s retreat and they ‘come to blows inside Jordan’s apartment.’

The shocking incident was even caught on camera, ‘meaning there’s every chance it could be shown in the most explosive scenes ever to be aired’ on MAFS UK.

Approached for comment, a Channel 4 spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘The wellbeing of cast and crew is our utmost priority at all times throughout production and beyond.

‘During filming, an altercation occurred between two cast members which was defused immediately by crew. All contributors involved were offered appropriate support.’

Luke himself has now responded to the claims admitting he is ‘fuming’ with whoever is selling ‘spoilers’ on the show to the media – and insisting the incident has been ‘exaggerated.’

Taking to Instagram, he hit out a ‘snake in the cast’ who ‘feels the need to sell a story and give spoilers’ about the show, slamming them as ‘desperate.’

‘I’m actually p****d off, not just for myself but for you guys at home who just want to tune in and it’s been ruined for you.’

He went on to insist that the reports are ‘exaggerated’ and ‘half that stuff is not as it seems.’

‘As soon as I’m allowed to talk about stuff, as soon as the show’s over, I’m going to be posting everything on this Instagram,’ he went on, before sending a message to whoever was leaking the stories – ‘F*** you.’

The incident would mean Luke and wife Jay – who were massively popular among fans of the series – would be removed from later episodes of the programme.

And while it’s not clear how they will approach their relationship should Luke’s alleged actions see them kicked out, they had appeared one of the strongest couples among all of the new brides and grooms.

They wouldn’t be the first to be removed from the programme in this series, as Brad Skelly was kicked off after being accused of controlling behaviour towards his wife Shona Manderson.

He hit back at the show, insisting he had been edited to make him out to be a villain.

There was drama afoot before the current season of Married At First Sight UK even began airing, with reports bosses threatened to axe three contestants over their ‘wild partying.’

As reported by theMail Online in September, network bosses called in lawyers after a night of ‘wild partying’ shortly after the series began filming.

It led to a legal team writing up new contracts banning the cast from entering central London, instead staying in Wembley where they are put up for the duration of the show.

This is said to have infuriated cast members who were not involved in the partying and alleged ‘rule-breaking’ as they claimed they were being treated like naughty children by bosses.

Married At First Sight UK continues at 9pm Monday on Channel 4.
